Celebrity Diet Trends to follow

These celebrity diet trends are very popular lately.

Looking to lose weight and thinking to adopt celebrity diet trends? Below we highlight some popular celebrity diet trends along with the pros and cons of each to help you decide whether you should follow them or not:
Dukan Diet
The Dukan Diet is also referred to as the French Atkins Diet, and celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Kate Middleton are said to have followed this diet for losing weight. Eating this diet means eating lean proteins along with oat bran for the day. Moreover, people eating this diet are supposed to drink six to eight glasses of water in a day.
The diet has two phases, and the second phase of the diet introduces vegetables. However, vegetables with high starch content, such as corns and potatoes, are not allowed in this diet. The third phase includes dairy, grains, and fruits. Though the diet has its pros and is helpful in losing weight, the cons include restriction of carbohydrates, which forces the body to make use of fat for fuel and may lead to ketosis, which has been linked to gout and kidney damage.
Raw Food Diet
Celebrities like Uma Thurman and Demi Moore are said to be fans of the raw food diet. As the name indicates, this diet involves eating raw food. Furthermore, food in this diet can’t be cooked over the temperature of 118oF, which means you are only eating raw vegetables and fruits along with smoothies and cold soups that can be prepared without heat. People on a raw food diet drink unpasteurized milk as well as cheese prepared from raw milk. The cons of a raw food diet include missing out on dairy and poultry products, such as eggs and meat, which include nutrients essential to the proper functioning of the body.
17-Day Diet
Dr. Phil is rumored to be backing this diet with the duration of each phase of this diet being 17 days. The first phase comprises eating poultry, fish, low sugar fruits and cleansing vegetables. The first phase also allows eating 2 servings of probiotic food along with a restricted amount of healthy fat. The second phase allows for introduction of lean red meat, whole grains, starchy vegetables and legumes. The cons of this diet include missing on the necessary variety of vegetables and fruits which are so important for the proper functioning of the body. Moreover, whole grains are also missing from the diet, which are also essential.
Though these celebrity diet trends may help you lose weight, they do rob your body of certain key nutrients that are essential to proper functioning of the body since these diets are restrictive in nature. Though these diets may be used for losing weight, following them for too long may not fulfill your body’s nutritional needs and may lead to health problems.
